More Basics

The point of this web page is a very simple one. I mlb12am not wanting to go into any great detail beyond the basics of the subject of the Four Temperaments. I do feel though, the basics are being largely missed or set aside. This very ancient understanding until recent years is what I believe would have been seen as the classical way of understanding the human temperament and personality. Its usefulness is probably now being over-looked.
The classical Four Temperaments have gained their names by being carried down through the language from their Ancient Grecian origins. Whilst they express well the basic nature and characteristic of the temperament, there can be an immediate danger of sending us down a road of assumptions. The four Temperaments are Choleric, Melancholic, Phlegmatic and Sanguine. Two of the temperaments would be extrovert and two introvert. Each temperament has its own set of traits which we will have been born with. Each trait can be positively or negatively nurtured. The light of goodness needs to shine on to all the traits to make us whole.
I see a circle with four equal segments: one for each temperament. One temperament type will tend to dominate in each individual person and have a unique relationship with the secondary temperaments.
I have reached a very good stage in my life and have developed a good understanding of myself. Healing should follow a better understanding of self. Also, I am sure the lack of knowledge in this area effects many relationships in our lives.
Much was written during the twentieth century and right up to today concerning the detail and will be very accessible.
My knowledge of this subject has been gained over 30 years. It took me very little time to grasp the concept, but what has followed has been learned by the experience of observing, listening and reading going through tough times, good times and now reflection. I have come to understand much about the detail of my own unique personality , but I will still have much to learn in general about the subject as everyone else will be uniquely different.
